Frank Bauman started Bauman Sign in 1965. The sign business needed a crane to install their work, so they purchased a pole crane. These cranes were very basic, but functional and inexpensive for light work. As time went on, demand grew for crane services, and Frank started focusing on the crane service and dropped the sign work.
Frank continually grew the fleet and the staff to handle work in the surrounding areas. Focusing on a high level of service, Bauman Crane swung a lot of building trusses and various mechanical installations. As tree removals began utilizing cranes, Bauman Crane began this service as well.
In 2019, Rich Nichols purchased Bauman Crane. Rich also owns Bob’s Crane in Kennett Square, a similar service to Bauman in size, fleet, and types of work. Frank remains active in the business, talking with the many customers that have developed over the years, and looking at special jobs.
Bauman Crane continues to grow, investing in new equipment. Our latest cranes feature 151 feet of main boom, and more counterweight options to fit more varied jobs.
We continue to focus on providing a high level of service, and look forward to working with you!
